Let's get started...
Congratulations! We've walked you through the account creation and you've successfully paid for a subscription. Now, it's time to start counting days with Daysium.
Step 1: Download the Daysium App
The first step is to download the Daysium app on your mobile device and set your password. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices and can be found in the App Store or Google Play Store.
We'll email you the link to creating your password which you must open on your phone's email app.
If you already have the app installed, you can set your password. If not, we'll prompt you to download the app first.
You can then log in using your email and password, tapping 'Sign In'.
Please note that we've temporarily paused third-party log-ins.
Step 2: Configure Location Settings
Daysium needs access to your location data to accurately count your days.
Navigate to the 'Location Permissions' settings from the 'Home' screen. When using the app for the first time, you'll be prompted to allow Daysium to access your location:
You should:
Tap "Allow While Using App", then
Tap "Change to Always Allow"
Your location permissions view should look like this:
💡 For more information, read our help article on 'Understanding and Managing Location Permission'.
⚠️ It's important to keep the location settings configured correctly, otherwise we can't count your days.
Step 3: Start Counting Days
You are now automatically counting days, and you can view your progress towards limits in the app. You can also manually capture your location and add it to your timeline.
For each entry generated either automatically or manually by you, you can also add supporting evidence. The entries are colour-coded to make it easy to see key information about them at a glance:
Yellow - General location.
Green - Saved location.
Orange - Evidenced location.
Grey - Residential.
Violet - Assumed location
Over the next few days, Daysium will learn your movement patterns and assume your Residential and Work locations. This enables us to create an accurate timeline of movement without including unnecessary or irrelevant locations.
💡 Read 'How to Log Your Location Manually' and 'How to Add Evidence to Your Timeline' articles for more help.
Step 4: Monitor Your Day Counts
You will have already established which tax rules affect your situation. The specific tax Rulesets have been set up in the Daysium Portal. All applicable Rules appear on the app's 'Home' page.
Each Rule shows the remaining days, current counted days and the maximum limit for that tax rule.
By tapping the forward arrow on a tax Rule, you enter the 'Explore' view. This shows a list of days that count towards your total allowance under that specific tax rule. You can also view special days such as Airside and Exceptional Days.
💡Special case days count as zero, meaning you were in the tax restriction, but they don't count towards your total.
That's it, you're now set up.
Remember to review your Timeline regularly to stay informed about your day count. This will give you confidence to plan your future travels and stay compliant.
You also want to add evidence to your location entries. This adds another layer of proof that you were with your phone at that location!
