Self-declared days are days you manually select in Daysium because it isn't possible for Daysium to calculate this type of day automatically.
Changing self-declared days directly affects your day count. This can influence your tax residency status, so ensure the information you provide is accurate. Always keep supporting evidence where possible for declared days, especially in cases of exceptional circumstances.
‼️We recommend always consulting a tax advisor if you're unsure about exceptional circumstances.
Examples of Self-Declared Days
Some situations where you might want to self-declare days include:
Work days (applicable for the UK Rulesets).
Transit days where, you socialised or worked whilst spending an evening in UK.
Exceptional circumstances that prevented you from leaving a country, including travel restrictions or emergencies.
When Are Self-Declared Days Visible?
These days are only visible when your presence on that particular day has triggered a day count under your chosen Ruleset.
💡Self-declared feature isn't applicable to all Rulesets, such as the Schengen Ruleset.
How to Select or Deselect Self-Declared Day
Open Your Timeline: If your presence has triggered a day count on your chosen Ruleset, you'll see the option for self-declared days at the top of your screen.
Select/Deselect: Tap the declaration you want to make, such as 'Transit' day.
Confirm Your Selection: We'll prompt a warning asking you to confirm you want to self-declare that day. Tap 'Confirm' and your day counts will be updated accordingly.
Your day count now needs to be recalculated by the system which sometimes takes a few minutes. Once that's done, your day count will be updated in the Home screen.
