The Timeline feature automatically creates a record of public locations as you move, using your phone's GPS data together with a global database of over 100 million points of interest. This feature enables you to:

  1. Automatically count your days in various tax jurisdictions.

  2. Generate evidence to show that you were at those locations, not just your phone.

  3. Protect your privacy throughout the process.

Understanding Timeline Colors:

The Timeline locations have different colours, or states.

Here’s what the colours signify:

  • Yellow General Location: Our algorithm's best guess of your location based on movement.

  • Green Saved Location: You’ve tapped ‘Save’ on a Yellow General Location or 'Accept' on a Purple Assumed Location.

  • Orange Evidenced Location: Locations you've added a photo or screenshot of a document as evidence to verify presence.

  • Grey Residential Location: We don’t know your home address, but through movement patterns, we’ve established this as the General Location where you reside at.

  • Purple Assumed Location: Used when we don’t receive any data from you, or we don’t detect any movement from one location to another — we’ll assume you’re still at the previous logged location.

Pro Tips:

  • Update for Accuracy: Change Purple Assumed Locations to a Green Saved Locations for accurate day counts.

  • Solidify Your Records: To dispel any doubts during tax inquiries, upload evidence to convert a Green Saved Location to an Orange Evidenced Location.
